When using a washing machine, you may encounter various problems. It may be that your washing machine is not working properly or that it makes a lot of noise during a wash cycle. Click on a problem you are experiencing in the overview below for more information.
Causes of loud noise during washing
Do you hear a creaking or squeaking sound during washing? Then the drive belt is often poorly adjusted. Call a washing machine repairman.
Not a good balance in the drum. If the laundry is not distributed properly in the drum, it will become unbalanced. When this happens, a lot of noise is created. This can easily be solved by switching off the washing machine and ensuring a better distribution in the drum.
There may be a problem in the motor or pump. You will notice this when you hear a high pitched sound. If this is the case, call a washing machine repairman.
It can happen that you forgot to take something out of your pants and that it ends up in the washing machine. This can cause a rattling sound, in addition it can also cause damage to the drum. Therefore, make sure that this is removed from the washing machine as soon as possible.
Does the machine make the noise only before and after spinning? Then there is a problem with the suspension of the washing drum. Call a technician.
The washing machine may not have a suitable base. This will cause the washing machine and its surroundings to vibrate. Therefore, make sure the washing machine is on a firm, flat surface.
Washing machine no longer works properly
The drain hose may be kinked or clogged if the washing machine is running but the water is not draining. Is there water leaking during pumping and spinning? Then the problem may be in the drain hose. Check that it is properly connected, not damaged or kinked. And that the rubber ring is not broken.
If the door of the washing machine does not close properly, the washing machine will not work. Make sure that it is closed properly. If it does not work then it may be due to the sensor of the door. In this case, call a washing machine repairman.
Is there water leaking at the door? Check if the seals are broken or damaged. Replace them if they are damaged. It can also happen that too much cleaning agent has been used, it will then foam so much that it comes through the door.
Check for blockage of the filter. In general, the filter is easy to clean. The way to access the filter varies per washing machine, so always consult the user manual of your washing machine.
If the program switch is broken, the machine will not transmit the selected program. Call a technician for this.
Is the drain hose not broken, but does the machine leak water from the bottom during pumping or spinning? Then there may be damage to the tub.
Check if the plug is properly in the socket. Also check if there is voltage on the socket. Do this by connecting another device. If that does not work either, there may have been a short circuit and it is the socket.
There is probably a problem with the inlet hose if the machine leaks when the water runs in. Check that the hose is connected properly. Also check that it is not damaged or kinked and that the rubber ring is not broken. Or the problem is in the water inlet valve.
Check that the tap of the water supply is open properly. Sometimes the solenoid valves are stuck by limescale or have burned out. In that case, call a technician.
