The stately Villa "De Laak" was built around 1835 and is located on the old route between Arnhem and Nijmegen. The historic village of Elden is surrounded by the Arnhem districts but has retained its village character with a cozy village square where several restaurants and terraces can be found. The conservatory offers a view of the vineyard. The private terrace and garden provide peace and privacy.

Layout:
The fully equipped home has a spacious entrance hall. The living room is tastefully decorated and equipped with a smart TV, radio, wifi, etc. The kitchen is equipped with all appliances and is open to the conservatory. This atmospheric space has French doors leading to the veranda and offers a beautiful view of the orchard and the grapevines. There is also a lush garden with a terrace.
Upstairs there are 2 spacious double bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The box spring beds can be moved apart if desired.
There is parking available for cars and bicycles can be stored in the basement.

Surroundings:
The area is very attractive for walking and cycling tours. Park Westerveld is located right next to our house. In the floodplain park Meinerswijk, remains of the Roman Empire are visible and you walk or cycle among konik horses and galloway cattle.
The cozy center of the old Arnhem city center is reachable within 10 minutes by bike or public transport. Elden also has a cozy village square with terraces and cafes.
The bridge connecting Elden with the center of Arnhem played a crucial role during Operation ‘Market Garden’ in World War II and ultimately became ‘A Bridge too Far,’ after the eponymous film starring Sean Connery, Anthony Hopkins, and Robert Redford.
A visit to the Airborne museum is definitely worthwhile.
Arnhem also has a lot to offer culturally, such as Burgers Zoo, Dutch Open Air Museum, and the Kröller Müller Museum in National Park ‘Hoge Veluwe’.

The center of Arnhem is quickly accessible by bus or bike. Shopping center Kronenburg is within walking distance and 4 minutes by car.
A walk to the center takes about half an hour. On request, professional rental bikes are available on location for a fee of €12.50 per bike per day.
