When the pressure in the central heating boiler is lower than 1.2 Bar, it must be topped up. You can follow the following steps for this:

  1. Connect a filling hose to a water tap with a screw thread
  2. To prevent air in the central heating system, first fill the hose with water
  3. Connect the filling hose to a filling nipple (a tap) on the central heating system
  4. Unplug the central heating system from the wall socket
  5. Check that the ends of the hose are securely attached
  6. Open the water tap slowly to build up the pressure
  7. Open the filling valve by turning the nipple a quarter turn
  8. Fill the boiler to between 1.2-2 Bar
  9. Close both taps
  10. Remove the hose, but be careful of water that may come out of the hose
  11. Turn the central heating back on and then bleed all radiators
