As in 2015 and 2016, Rotsvast is once again the number one housing rental site in the Netherlands. The top 25 list was compiled based on the number of rental properties offered on Pararius from July 2016 through June 2017. Pararius compiles an annual list including the umbrella franchise chains. Douwe Weersta of Rotsvast says he is pleased with this news and indicates that in addition to the rental services, new construction projects have been realized throughout the country, among other things.

The list is representative, said Jasper de Groot (director of Pararius). "We are the largest residential rental platform in the Netherlands, with more than 1,500 professional rental brokers, more than 1 million visitors monthly and 70,000 lettings annually." Based on the data obtained from this, de Groot concludes that the extensive shake-out due to the crisis and adjustments in brokerage legislation is definitely behind us. "The rental market has stabilized and is picking up here and there. Moreover, the sales market is doing so well that sales brokers are getting less and less involved in the rental market, allowing the real rental brokers to attract more market to themselves again."

No. 1 and strong growth in Brabant

"We are still number one in rental properties at Rotsvast and we work daily throughout the country with passion and ambition to keep it that way. What is striking, however, is the growth in Brabant. There are no less than 4 offices from Eindhoven in the top 75 of individual offices," said Hans van Gennip of Rotsvast Eindhoven. "We owe this to the strong growth in the region and development of Eindhoven economically. Eindhoven is growing economically faster than the four major cities in the Randstad. Unemployment dropped and we focus strongly on housing for working people and expats," said Hans van Gennip. "Besides leasing and active property management, we are also realizing new projects in the region. In Eindhoven, a new project called Elzenthof was recently announced and will be completed in mid-October. It involves 35 short-stay apartments varied in area from 36m2 to 104m2. 35 apartments on the second floor, therefore ideal for central housing of employees and also with a high degree of luxury regarding furnishing and finishing. Consideration has also been given to the health and fitness of tenants for the busy expat employee and each tenant has the option of using a personal trainer," said Hans van Gennip.

Developing and investing in real estate

"Rotsvast specializes in residential leasing, property management and active property management. Especially when it comes to both financial, commercial and technical property management," said Douwe Weerstra of Rotsvast Breda. "One of the reasons for me personally to get actively involved in real estate development projects from Rotsvast is that in this way we can think along from beginning to end to achieve the ultimate added value for the client and to be co-responsible for the return. The knife cuts both ways: co-developing and co-producing. A recent example that has been widely reported in the media concerns the new construction project T63. T63 is a versatile student housing project with 219 studios on Tramsingel in Breda. T63 is an inspiring and cleverly thought-out housing concept with flexible layouts and amenities that fit the needs of today's student. But it doesn't stop there, recently for example (besides new construction projects in Eindhoven and Breda) projects were also launched in Delft (Superlofts) and Middelburg (Het Drieluyck). View all (new) construction projects through the website of Rotsvast", says Douwe Weerstra.
